Charles Edward Walsh

Charles Edward Walsh arrived in Anchorage, Alaska (thanks to the military draft) in January 1968.  After completing 18 months of service, the state was booming with the construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, so he decided to stay.

A few months into his first job selling freshly platted lots for a local real estate developer he realized “Hey, I could just do this myself,” and Walsh Investment Company was born. Mr. Walsh initially focused on large land subdivision projects and later expanded to office, hotel, retail, warehouse, and self storage development projects in Alaska.

In 1980 Mr. Walsh and his family moved to Bellevue, Washington. Walsh Investment Company continued to develop commercial properties in Alaska and expanded into Washington, Colorado, and Arizona as well.

Mr. Walsh is a native of Rhode Island and Connecticut. He received early training in his family’s seafood restaurant business with locations in both Stonington, Connecticut and the Florida Keys. Mr. Walsh earned his undergraduate degree in Florida State University School of Business Administration with a degree in Hotel Administration and Finance.
